Well, the purpose of a website is to provide readers with sufficient information to fulfill all their queries and also to hold their interest. With the increasing number of websites the possibility of disappearance in the clutter is increasing everyday. How to overcome that? How the website can hold the interest of the reader? How it can be more attractive and user friendly?
You have only few seconds to hold the attention of the website. The 3 main aspects of the website-Information, Interest and Interactivity should be kept in mind while designing a website.

- Decrease the graphic sizes
- Content should be precise and informative
- Make it conversational.
- Language should be simple
- Site-map can be used to guide the readers.
- Logical headings and descriptive links can be used
- Maintain a synergy through out the website.
- Use interesting icons for navigation

Apart from these it is advisable to update the website regularly. The information provided should be genuine. If there is any feedback section in the website it should be studied regularly to understand the pulse of the reader. Any question asked by the reader in the feedback or comment section should be answered periodically. The design of the webpage should be attractive and complement the content of the website. Headings and Sub – heads or pointers can break the monotony of text.
It is better to use short URLs. Use of Jargons in the content should be avoided. Text should be easily readable. Try to maintain the flow of information in the content to hold the interest of the readers. But it should not be overloaded with hardcore facts. The contact details should be valid. Appropriate keywords should be used and it continues.
It’s is not easy to create an interesting website .Knowing your reader, proper planning , research ,analysis and formulation of innovative ideas will obviously serve your purpose.
